This month, June, the theme for Birchbox is "Jet Set", all the things that are perfect to pack for a get a way or vacation.

Take Off Your Shoes and Stay Awhile

I found the above quote on Louise Joy's blog, Inspire Magazine. It made me think about the visitors who visit my blog on any given day; how I want them to feel as they visit, and what I want them to take away as they leave.

As you click on my blog, I hope you get excited; like you're getting ready to visit a friend at her home! I'm always here and you're always welcome to come, take off your shoes, and sit in a comfy chair, chat, and stay awhile; there's no rush to leave. It's quiet here, relaxing, and I hope you feel at home. There's no need to dress up; you can come in your pjs. I hope you enjoy our time together and as you visit, we may even become great friends! As you leave, I hope you feel inspired, refreshed, uplifted and encouraged. And, I hope that whenever I visit you; I will feel the same way too. I may even have some fresh, right out of the oven, chocolate chip cookies waiting for us to devour!

Favorite Song of The Moment

My new favorite song of the moment comes from Carly Rae Jepson; titled "Call Me Maybe". It's a very catchy song; which, hopefully, makes any girl want to sing along. This is Carly's first single, which has risen in popularity in many countries. I believe we'll see more great music coming from her!

*Listen to the song below and tell me what you think!

French Soda: My Latest Find

The other week I was doing some grocery shopping at Kroger and came across a bottle of pink lemonade soda. But it wasn't just any bottle of pink lemonade soda; it was French! In all my many trips to Kroger, I had never come across the Lorina French Premium Soda before. It was on sale; so you know I bought it!

The soda is inside a beautiful Parisian style bottle, which is why I still have it; even though its now empty. It was really good too and healthy, because its natural with no artificial stuff; which makes it a plus! I absolutely adore France, and its on my list of places to visit. So being able to have and drink an actual French product, that came straight from the country, was pretty cool stuff to me! Oh... I must mention: I just LOVE the Eiffel Tower on the front label; one of my favorite architectural creations!

If you happen to come across this beverage; buy some and try. If you have already tried this French soda; please tell me what you thought in the comments.

Mail Call

I LOVE writing letters and receiving letters too! There is just something about knowing, that someone took time out of their busy life to put their thoughts and feelings into words; and mail it off to you. Email will NEVER have anything over a beautifully hand written letter on paper; it’s so impersonal. When I was younger, I use to write letters all the time; it was fun and I enjoyed it. But, slowly people stopped writing me back. I felt like no one really cared to read my words; my feelings, and no one really cared about my beautiful stationary as much as I did. I use email and text messaging all the time. I’m into technology, but letters are personal. I’ve always felt, and been told, that I express myself better when I write my feelings down. I agree with that, because sometimes it just doesn’t come out the way I thought it would.

Awhile back I came across Nnenna’s blog, "Star-Crossed Smile" and read about the Correspondence Club she started. I was really excited to see others out there, which still have a love for letters. I sent an email to her and I received my first pen pal the next month. Every month I’ll receive a new pen pal. So maybe this new club will reignite my love for writing letters.

My first pen pal was Sara, from “Falling Stars Taste Like Metal on My Tongue”. She lives in Slovenia, Europe. I had never heard of Slovenia, until now. Her letter to me was really beautiful; as well as the gifts she included! For someone that only knows me from checking out my blog, she had very nice things to say about me. I hope she enjoyed my letter and a few goodies that I sent her.

I hope this post inspires you to get out your pretty stationary and write to someone. Letter writing is a lost art; don't allow it to become extinct. Click on the picture below to find out how you can join the Correspondence Club and receive a pen pal too!

Pinterest Me Monday

Today is Monday, and that means it's time for another post for my Pinterest Me Monday series. I'm starting the process of a redesign for my wedding blog, Eilhsa. So yesterday, I created a new board in my pinterest account; in order to give my designer an idea of what I want my blog to look like. It's also my inspiration for what I want the image of my business to convey. After you view the pictures; please let me know what words come to mind.

Blog Redesign and Other Things

Hello blog friends! For those of you that have been frequent visitors of mine, you'll notice the new scenery around my blog. This week I received a new blog design from Jahnavi of A Beautiful Feather! Two of the things I mentioned for my blog inspiration was girly and pink. As you take a look around; you'll notice she delivered on pink and girly; for sure! My mom looked at my blog during revision and said it looked like me. For those that REALLY know me; would agree! I hope you all like it; let me know what you think! If you're looking for an affordable blog redesign and a quick turn around, Jahnavi can help you; stop by her blog and say hi!

In other news... I have a full work weekend ahead, and you probably won't see me around until Monday. Hopefully I don't end up feeling too drained of energy by the end.

Also, my sweetheart has gone out of town for family reasons, and I'm sad. He and I are ALWAYS together and if we are apart; its only for a day or two. But, he'll be a whole state away for almost a week. It makes me sad, because I miss him already; and he won't just be down the street. I pray for his safe trip there and back; and I hope the time goes by fast!

Have a happy weekend!

I'm Going On A Savings Spree... would you like to join me?

As you all know I'm a girl; and most girls LOVE to shop, shop, shop; including me. Who doesn't enjoy the thrill of getting something new; buying something that you really, REALLY want. Now don't go thinking I'm materialistic or a shopaholic; cause I'm not, but it's exciting to be able to get new things! But, unfortunately my little Honda needs a few repairs and I need to save, save, SAVE. So I have made the decision to save money this summer; so I can repair my car and restore it to its former self.

So from now until September, I am vowing to myself that new clothes, shoes, little things, and anything else I WAS planning on, will need to wait. For three months, my paychecks will go towards any bills I need to pay, basic needs, and then the rest will be saved. I call this journey my savings spree. I believe I can and will do this. I decided to let you all know, in case anyone else out there is in a similar predicament. Maybe we can encourage each other to save money, or just check in; kind of like a support system. If you're interested; leave a comment or email me.

So my saving spree begins!
P.S. My new blog design is almost finished. YAY!
